Forsight Australia Gives Back to the Community

Forsight Australia continues its Community involvement through its links with Rotary, Inner Wheel and Probus Clubs in North Rocks. We share our multi-purpose room constructed by RFBI, MasoniCare, Masonic Club, Rotary Club of Carlingford, the John T Reid Charitable Trusts, Inner Wheel Clubs of Beecroft and Parramatta and Rotary Clubs of Thornleigh and West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook.

Christmas gift giving 2016

Another Joint project for Genworth and Rotary.

When the Genworth Christmas gift giving began in 2010, our clients did not know what to do with their parcel, but when given a gift from Genworth last Christmas (1996), they knew exactly what to do with their parcel. There were lots of smiles all around as ribbons were undone paper was unwrapped to feel a special gift inside. Each employee chose to purchase a gift from a Wish list.

To compliment the generosity shown by Genworth, the Rotary Club of Thornleigh and West Pennant Hills/Cherrybrook also donated gifts to reach a grand total of 65 gifts. What a wonderful achievement for Rotary members and Genworth management and employees.

New Sensory Garden and Art Studio

Forsight Australia has a new Art Studio and Sensory garden at our Group Home Support Centre in North Rocks. Our clients will be able to learn new skills while enjoying tactile activities.

This project was made possible by generous donations from Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution, Genworth Foundation, Inner Wheel Clubs of Beecroft and Parramatta, Rotary Club of Carlingford and Dr John and Mrs Helen York and Mrs Yolanda Seach.

The Sensory Garden is to be completed by volunteers from Genworth Corporate Services management team and staff who will all work together for a full day on a backyard blitz.

This innovative Community funded project is entirely for our clients to enjoy while learning new skills.

Sensory Art will become an integrated activity in each of our 13 Group Home Accommodation Programs in 2017. Forsight Australia already provides a range different sensory suppoand the addition of sensory art will add to the other tactile activities offered.

Sensory Art will include tactile activities, painting, pottery, models in paper Mache, herb gardening and much more.

• Imagine sitting in the sensory garden amidst tubs of aromatic herbs, lavender and gardenias or touching the water feature while a fine mist waters the fernery and washes the pebbles.

• Imagine using edible food items to create Artistry! There is no end to the choices we will be able to offer.
