Regional Managers will send out a Person-Centred report to all families and Advocates at the end of this year, setting out the outcomes achieved by each resident and group home during 2015. Feedback will be invited from families and Advocates.

GHSC Christmas New Year Closure

The Group Home Support Centre at North Rocks will close at 12H.00 on Wednesday 23 December 2015 and re-open at 10H.00 on Monday 4 January 2016. Pays will be processed as normal on 28 and 29 December 2015.

Residents’ Christmas Party

The Residents’ Christmas party will be held on Friday 18 December 2015 at the Rooty Hill RSL. Theme this year is “Christmas Cheer”. For further information ask your Regional Manager about this dinner dance.

Dates for your Diary

Leadership Group Meeting. A meeting will be held on Wednesday 25 November 2015 to be attended by all Leadership group members. The focus for this meeting is the NDIS. The Managers who have attended NDIS training sessions in 2015 will share information obtained so far on what Leadership team members need to be currently doing in their group homes.

Following a successful 2015 AGM on 28 October 2015, I would like to congratulate all House Managers and Disability Support Workers who accompanied residents on the night. Everyone dressed up for the occasion looking wonderful, happy and relaxed for dinner.

Quarterly General Staff Meeting (QGSM)

The 4rd Quarterly General Staff meeting for 2015 will be held at the GHSC on Tuesday 1 December 2015 at 11am to 1pm including lunch. Guest Speaker will speak on the NDIS. It is critically important for all employees to attend this meeting. Certificates for 2015 attendance will be mailed by 23 December 2015.

Invitation to Focus Meeting #2 - Wednesday 15 April 2015 9am-11am.

Purpose of this second meeting:
To sign off TPV Action Plan.
1. To report on progress on achieving Actions in the Forsight Initial Assessment carried out in 2013
2. To finalise all actions before the Gap Assessment is held at Forsight on 21 April 2015.
3. To identify who needs to do last minute Actions to eliminate gaps that were identified at Focus Meeting #1 on 25 March 2015.
4. To be ready for Third Party Verification (TPV) on 14 and 15 May 2015.

Senior Manager and House Managers.

After the Focus #2 Meeting you will be able to:
Fully understand your role and responsibility as a Regional Manager or House Manager to ensure all Stakeholder’ including employees’ participation in the Gap Assessment on 21 April and the Third Party Verification on 14 and 15 May 2015.
Sign off on all:
a) Actions is completed in the initial Assessment completed in 2013 by the Management team.
b) Actions agreed to at the Focus Meeting #1 held at Forsight on 25 March 2015 that have been completed.
c) Actions outstanding on 15 April, to be completed by 21 April 2015.
Develop a final checklist for your Disability Support Workers to be TPV ready by 21 April 2015.
Have an understanding of the process and types of questions that may be put to Forsight employees and other Stakeholders by the Third Party Verifiers on 14 and 15 May 2015.
Identify strategies for communication between locations and departments to ensure TPV information is shared across all areas, to be able to answer any questions.

When House Managers and Senior Managers take annual leave, there are opportunities for all employees to apply to fill the temporary vacancy. Each CEO Payroll Memorandum in future will include a section under the heading STAFFING OPPORTUNITIES that will outline all staffing relief positions.

Thank you to Chairman Frank Deane and all Board members for their volunteer contribution to what we are most proud of, the high quality of our service. Thank you to Ross Liddle at United Way Sydney and Ellie Comerford and Lyn Stroud at Genworth for the Corporate Partner working bees and room makeovers held recently. A vast difference was made to Ivy group home and Waratah group home gardens.
