Forsight is a for-purpose organisation supporting adults with sensory and additional disabilities to achieve their goals and live their best lives.

Founded in 1978, Forsight continues to flourish and now operates 14 group homes, supported with 24/7 care, across the greater Sydney region.

Our Clients

We work closely with our clients, their family or guardian and their NDIS support worker to implement their personalised NDIS plan. Some of our residents head off to work each day, others enjoy day programs with activities such as hydrotherapy, occupational therapy and community access programs.

Our team ensures that our staff are socially active. We regularly take our clients out for day trips to the zoo, museums and local events. Where possible we want our clients to be included in all aspects of day-to-day life.

I always want to learn, and I want to focus on being more independent

Our Homes

We manage 14 group homes for adults with sensory impairments. Our homes are located in central, western and the south coast of Sydney.

Our homes are as individual as our clients and are equipped with everything each of our clients require to live a life that is comfortable, supported and as independent as possible.

We offer 24/7 staffing in each of our homes. Our staff are trained as Active Support Workers, that focusses on doing things “with” our clients and not “for” them. This helps our clients gain new skills, become more empowered and find ways to express their own individuality.

In this house everything goes. They take them out all the time. They take them to beaches, parks, dinners.....
— Rose, Kevin's Mother

Our Team

Our team at Forsight is dedicated to the individualised care of every client. Our robust team selection process ensures that we are encouraging people to join our team who are thoughtful, caring and empathetic. Our clients mean a great deal to our team and we treat them as we would want to be treated.

Our Active Support model encourages all of our team to care for our clients need with them and not for them. Our goal is to see each of our clients grow within their own capacity and to live each day meaningfully.

I love the fact that I get to see these clients smile everyday
— Daniel - Active Support Worker, Palms Home

Our History

Forsight was established in 1978. The then principal and two teachers from the North Rocks School for Blind and Deaf/Blind students understood that these students would need more than supervisory care as they became adults.

The late Tom Grunsell (Principal of NRBSC), his wife Jean (teacher at NRBCS) and the late Roy Dodd (teacher at NRBSC) established what is now Forsight.

The students from this school became the clients of Forsight’s first home. Their mission to provide homes for adults with sensory impairments continues with 14 homes now supporting over 60 adults throughout Sydney.

We are very proud to continue the legacy that was established by these 3 pioneers in adult sensory impairment supported care. We believe everyone has the right to be cared and supported for in whatever means possible to ensure a quality life.

Ordinary people doing extraordinary things
